Showroom
According to the art of feng shui, the Liberty Building isn’t a good place to do business, but the business of sin has managed to prosper there. The newcomer who wants a share in its busy nightlife market is Show Room. The shocking pink entrance is enough to catch the attention of the people streaming into Jam Bar next door, but very few people stop in. Show Room is airier and far more chic, but Jam Bar still has the jam customers packed in like sardines. The new bar just hopes to catch some of partygoers who want to pay a lower price while enjoying a seat and some air. The inside of this bar is lovely with red walls painted with flowers on one side and pastel stripes on the other. Its seating is just as colorful with a few sofas and some gaily painted low stools and tables reminiscent of kindergarten furniture. The mezzanine houses a pool table and more seating. Overall it’s not too dark, and the music is loud enough for dancing. Live bands—music students from Silpakorn University—play the same kinds of tunes as the other bars around—Thai pop rock ranging from new releases to indie songs to favorite oldies. A bottle of Hundred Pipers is B600, mixer is B30 and a Heineken is B100. By the way, don’t get this Show Room confused with the one at RCA.
