Sevana Bar gives largely nightlife-free Chan Road a shot in the arm.

The moodily lit shop-house is finding favor with old-timers of the art and journalism scenes, who pile in for the third-floor exhibitions (currently showing: “Duality” by photographer Paul Lukin), no-fuss Thai food till late (pad Thai with shrimp, B190; pad kaprao, B180) and the occasional hit of live music that doesn’t upstage the conversation.

The generous 7:30-10pm happy hours obviously help, too.
