Olá Thai Tapas Bar
Europe meets Thailand in this cozy Old Town tapas bar.
Owned by the neighboring Bangkok Bed and Bike hostel, this narrow tapas bar channels the European countryside in its rough brick interior adorned with bronze milk jugs, ukuleles, straw fedoras, a dartboard and wooden pew seating.
In a more intercontinental vein, Thai tapas like salted egg yolk with shrimp (B120) and Thai pork toast (B140) sit alongside calamari (B140), pintxo (B120) and antipasto platters (B450 small/B800 large) on a diverse menu that also encompasses heavier dishes like beef burgers (B220) and chocolate stewed pork (B220).
You’ll need these to soak up cocktails like the Bangkok Twilight (mango puree, pineapple juice, honey, lime, vodka and coriander, B290) or inventive shooters like the Pancake (whiskey, butterscotch schnapps, orange juice and maple syrup topped with bacon, B200)—perfect fuel for a big night.
Expect live music most weekends and some weeknights. When the new MRT Sam Yot finally opens, it will be within two minutes’ walking distance.
