Mae Yui
Ari's Thai comfort food classic opens in a chic location.
Ari's 15-year-old Thai comfort food favorite, Mae Yui, has relocated to a more spacious and grown-up location in the same neighborhood.
The new spot may lack the greenery and homey charm of the old Aree Samphan location, which sat in part of the owner's house, but it remains warm and welcoming thanks to an abundance of natural light and clean, crisp decor.
The menu of classic family recipes remains largely intact, with old favorites including kai kluuk pla tuu (fried rice with mackerel, B135), sen mee pad kapi (stir-fried rice noodles with shrimp chili paste, B135), goong wasabi (raw shrimps submerged in wasabi dipping sauce, B220), salted egg chili paste with vegetables (B150), and green curry with beef (B185)
Baan Mae Yui's old spot, meanwhile, is set to open as an Isaan restaurant run by the same people.
