The hot new BEAMCUBE brings a wild May lineup to the music lovers of Sathorn
Globetrotting sets, good drinks, and don’t forget about the view.
Starting tonight, BEAMCUBE, the chic new club at one of Bangkok’s most famous addresses, will be putting on a series of musical events throughout the month to sate the city’s appetite for something different.
For those who’ve yet to hear this sixth floor space—with its custom bleeding-edge TPI soundsystem—BEAMCUBE is the Sathorn spot for the club kids who want music done right. This month, they’re doing things a little differently.
Starting tonight, May 10, their May series is kicking off with a night for regional dance music featuring Wonderfruit’s music director and Equation Festival founder Ouissam and Saint Guel via the Philippines, the resident at LGBTQ+ must-see SNUG in Hanoi. Following up on Saturday, May 11, Bali is in the house via Gold Suite, the resident spinner at the luxe Potato Head Beach Club on the world famous Seminyak beach; he’s followed by MLiR's Marco of Magic Teapot Records.
Fastforwarding to next week, on May 18 the show to see is Simone De Kunovich, curator of Love International festival's Love on the Rocks boat party. He’ll be putting that state-of-the-art sound system to the test with tunes inspired by European movies from the 60s and 70s European cinema.
For May’s final weekend, BEAMCUBE has acts on Friday and Saturday coming to you live from Paris and Seoul. First up on May 24 is the inimitable Hugo LX—who has collaborated with the likes of Satoshi Tomiie and Rick Wade—and he’ll be hitting the decks to bring the francophone sound to Bangkok audiophile ears. Last, and certainly not least, is a Korean triple header with DJs Youknowsong, TUCAN DISCOS, and Slowlife.
If you’ve somehow not been to BEAMCUBE yet (and you will), that dark, thumping room with expert sound equipment is just the beginning. The swank indoor area and larger outside veranda (with one of the coolest views of the Mahanakhon building in town) are an ideal place to sample their Social Hour Specials with cocktails, beer, sake, and wine specials from Wed-Sun 6-9pm. No one likes to pop-and-lock on an empty stomach, so don’t forget their bites and sharing plates before you hit the dance floor.
