The Fat Cow, the Lad Prao-born, one-room bar and restaurant that puts Thai craft beer in the spotlight, has just opened a third branch (Bang Wa, Lad Prao) between Phrom Phong and Asoke. Taking over the space vacated by Henry’s Gastropub on Sukhumvit Soi 20/1, the small alleyway between Sois 18 and 20, the bar offers excellent craft beer in a part of the city where previously there was none.  

 

The space is a classic urban craft beer joint: a brick accent wall, wood tables, shiny metal taps, and a mix of high and low tables complemented with bar and terrace seating. Here, order from 10 taps of beer, ranging from a Czech-style pilsner from Paulsteiner (B90/330ml)—a Thai brewer based in Laos—to IPAs from Thailand-born Eleventh Fort and Outlaw (from B200). If you’re familiar with the other outposts of the Fat Cow, you won’t be surprised to find a well-stocked fridge carrying around 40 other options by the can and bottle, too.

 

The food menu is the same as you’ll find at the other two locations, which runs the gamut from juicy burgers (B220-300) to fish and chips (B290) to meatballs in marinara sauce (B180).
