The buzz: Last year saw a whole lot of wine places, and heap of new, fancy imported beers, but also more restaurants developing serious cocktail lists. 248’s mixologist wants to take the trend out of Thong Lor and into this hotel bar on Ratchadapisek, where even the food menu includes cocktail pairings.

The décor: The space age décor mixes beehive latticework, an angular bar and space opera chairs. The place feels very much like a restaurant indoors, but the bar and outdoor terrace are good spots to grab a drink. A blue theme runs throughout, including in the cocktail menu, where curacao seems to be a favorite of the bartender.

The music: Pop music hits playing in the background.

The crowd: Ranges from business lunch types to those are living around Ratchadapisek.
